Somebody said nothing like pic existed in the TeX world. If you have a license for DWB ditroff, you can get a copy of tpic, which accepts the same input language. The person to contact, if you have the papers, is morgan@isi.uci.edu. In a recent TUGBOAT, work on something called texpic was reported. However, pictures are one thing I prefer WYSIWYG for. Somebody said that size and font change commands could not be separated in TeX. This is not true, you only have to insulate yourself with an appropriate layer of macros. LaTeX does some of this with its size and font change commands, but people are working on a more orthogonal scheme.
