Assistance needed form TeXperts:

I am looking for a DVI to PostScript conversion  program. We at Lehigh
have DVILPS, but unfortunately that does not process \special command.
Someone   suggested  that I  need  DVI2PS  program;  supposed to  more
advanced program than  DVILPS.  I want  to include PostScript graphics
image into my  TeX, LaTeX, or AmSTeX document.  The current version of
DVILPS ignores the  \special command  and produces  a blank area where
graphics  should have been.  Any pointers  on  how to obtain  a better
version of  DVI  to  PostScript  conversion program   will  be greatly
appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

P.S.: I am just a TeXnician; trying hard to become TeXpert.
