Message-ID: <1055@eastman.UUCP> Date: 1 Mar 90 15:56:05 GMT Sender: news@eastman Followup-To: news.sysadmin Organization: Eastmak Kodak Co., Rochester, NY Lines: 24 I have been a news reader for several years. Within the last few days, I installed remote rn and nntp's mini inews. All is working well. However, it occurs to me that I am now somewhat of a news administrator. I say somewhat because I'm definately not a full blown news administrator since I don't keep the news artilces on my system, nor do I have a full blown implementation of news. I do have users who read the news on my machine (I have serveral serial ports connected to a broadband terminal network) so I would presume I have at least some of the responsibilities of a news administrator. What are they? Has anyone every written anything on the duties and responsibilities of a news administrator? I've never read the news admin groups but I'm sure questions like this have been raised in the past. Should I send in an official map? If so, where? All the documentation I got with nntp and rn say nothing about this. I appreciate your feedback. I will summarize back to the net if it appears appropriate or I get a lot mail responses. -- Charlie Dennett | UUCP: ...!rutgers!rochester!kodak!cygnus!dennett Information Services | Internet: dennett@Kodak.COM Eastman Kodak Company | Phone: (716) 726-4480 Rochester, NY 14653-5219 | Minicomputer Tech.
