Regularly, when they come, I receive as news admin a mail telling me how corrupt my active file is (basically, no comp.* etc. group is valid) and advising me to rmgroup all these groups. Of course, I don't obey, but the problem is that my /usr/lib/news/newsgroups is getting completely wrong this way. I have to wait for the next monthly general checkgroups (sent from cwi here in Europe) to get a valid newsgroups file again. This is a bit disturbing as I provide access to this newsgroups file to users here, through a help interface, for knowing what's in the different newsgroups. Does the problem come from Eliot Lear's checkgroup message or from my version of Bnews 2.11 (some beta version, I admit) ? And yes, honest, update of our Bnews software is on my TODO list. -- Karl Tombre - INRIA Lorraine / CRIN EMAIL : tombre@loria.crin.fr - POST : BP 239, 54506 VANDOEUVRE CEDEX, France
