The United Nations Postal Administration will issue six stamps March 16 to 
support the worldwide fight against acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

The World Health Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations, and 
the countries of the world enacted a global plan of attack against AIDS in 
1987.

The WHO and the United Nations promote several worldwide information and 
education activities to raise conciousness and increase understanding of the 
AIDS threat.
