The terms "A-12" and "YF-12A" are not interchangeable. They are different airplanes. I will not get into details, but one of the obvious differences is that the A-12 was a single seat aircraft (except for the one trainer - 60-6927, which had a second elevated cockpit) and the YF-12A was a two seat aircraft. And in order to avoid real confusion, I will we omit the "new A-12" being built by the Navy.
