Jim Sisul asks for pictures of Rutan's new plane. One can be found in the
current issue of US News & World Report, with a brief story. More details
can be found in the current Popular Science, in a story about Rutan.
 
The interesting details so far are:
 
-Engine intake offset to the right to avoid gun exhaust ingestion;
-20mm cannon offset to the left;
-composite construction;
-max speed around 500 kt;
 
Rutan claims the plane should be alble to go one-on-one with current air
superiority fighters owing to its extreme manuverability, small radar
image and cannon, but the primary mission is ground support. At an estimated
$2M per copy, it's intruiging. You could put 10 in the air for the cost of
on F-16....
