There are people who need to read it that don't have printers handy, and besides that, you wouldn't want all the extra preamble tacked on it nor would you want extensive lines of xx yy moveto (sadfasdf) show on your screen, and I would not want to write it that way. Documentation should be documentation, not programs to print documentation.
