The whole world doesn't revolve around the internet y'know! :-) [Yet!] We use domain information to route all our mail via the UK gateway (ukc.ac.uk), unless there is a "better" way of sending email. In practice this means that a direct link exists from our site to the destination. Eg. We have a direct link to vware.mn.org. Thus we can use that machine to route all our .mn.org email (assuming we've permission of the sysadmin for vware, of course).
