Message-ID: <9184@shlump.nac.dec.com> Date: 13 Mar 90 20:14:01 GMT Sender: newsdaemon@shlump.nac.dec.com Organization: Digital Equipment Corporation Lines: 17 (Well, I'll try again. Sorry) Can a file on an HPFS drive have trailing dots? If no, why not? I see nothing in the documentation (I have both IBM's and MS's 1.2 toolkits) that excludes this. Yet my test program passes "This file has dots........" to DosOpen and DosOpen returns 0, but the file created is "This file has dots". If I pass "This file has dots.................also" to DosOpen, it gets created fine. So it isn't multiple dots that are the problem. Thanks for your patience, ScottR
