I know that the first four bytes are the offsets for the metric information for the plain, bold, italic, and bold-italic versions within the .metric file. However, how is the actual metric information stored in the .metric file and for that matter, what exactly comprises the metric information and where is it gotten from??? Does it relate to the AFM files that come with quite a few Postscript files??? How would I go about taking an AFM file and creating a Professional Page .metric file??? If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate getting it!!
