   I have a question concerning X11 and UNIX.  A freind of mine is putting
together a very powerful Amiga system, and would like to find software
to match the performance of his system.

   I have noticed that there is a lot of very powerful software written 
for X11 available on the anonymous FTP sites.  My question is: would it
be possible to run this software on an Amiga with X11 alone, or would 
Amiga UNIX also be needed?

   I also have a comment to Commodore about X11: I have noticed that
nearly all of the more powerful UNIX systems include X11 as standard.
This includes HP, the Apollo systems (before they were bought by HP)
and the DECstation systems from DEC.  For Commodore to not do the
same, and also include X11 as standard with all of their Amiga UNIX
systems, would be a mistake -- IMHO.
