Message-ID: <21903@watdragon.waterloo.edu> Date: 12 Mar 90 22:45:03 GMT Sender: daemon@watdragon.waterloo.edu Distribution: comp Lines: 24 I'm thinking of leaving my Amiga on all the time from now on (it'll be seeing alot more use), and I'm worried about power fluctations (it does that alot here where I live) so I'm thinking about an uninterruptable power supply. 1) are there any other options ? 2) what rating (watts) should I get in order to drive my A2000 (lots'a stuff inside), my monitor and my modem, with perhaps an external hard drive in the future ? I have looked at the ratings on the silvered rectangles at the back of my 2000 and monitor and it says 3 Amps and 1 Amp respectively. If I multiply that by the line voltage (120 V) I get 480 watts !!! Is this amount really needed ? Advance Thanx, fred P.S. could you respond via email (even if you do post a response) as I don't read much here now-a-days due to too much volume and too little time). grwalter@watmath.uwaterloo.ca (Canadian domain) grwalter@watmath.waterloo.edu (US Internet, including CSNET) grwalter@watmath.waterloo.cdn (CDNnet and some European nets) watmath!grwalter (UUCP)
