I also had a problem installing the Lattice 5.05 patch.  After patching 
executables, I got the "LC1 is not an object module" message for 5 out of the 
eight (?) executables I patched.

I recycled to version 5.04a, tried again, and this time it worked; I now have 
5.05.  Why didn't it work before?  Phase of the moon perhaps.
