	The Berkeley Unix "man" system has an
	"apropos" command which does essentially
	what you suggest here. No doubt it will
	appear in Amix if they're doing things
	the way they ought to...

	In general, program-driven expansion is a
	bad idea, but having a common library helps
	a bit (but it's still ugly). There are
	situations where one needs to have program-
	driven expansion even in Unix, such as the
	"find" command for example...
