This is a response to Charles S. Fuller's question,
which has been arrived to me with a "badaddress",
about devices used by tar on Apollo.
 
hello Charles,
You are right using /dev/rct8 but I think the problem
is that your cartridge was not at the "LOAD-POINT".
In order to put it at the good position do the following
command EACH time BEFORE using tar :

      rbak -dev ct -rewind
