I use the Nec multisync GS.  The GS is a monochrome , black & white
monitor.  The picture is as good as the Atari monochrome.  I think
it cost me about $270 last year.  I like it.  It does not have a
speaker.  The Nec color multisync in monochrome mode on the Atari
is good but not as nearly as good as the GS.

     Monochrome picture grading:
       Nec GS multisync          A
       Atari monochrome monitor  A
       Nec color multisync       B
       Atari color monitor       c+
