Message-ID: <191@raider.MFEE.TN.US> Date: 8 Mar 90 22:51:30 GMT Organization: RaiderNet Public Access, Murfreesboro, TN Lines: 18 I would just like to pass on an experience that I had about 5 mins ago. If you are a programmer back-up your source code! I was writing an alternate desktop (ie. like NeoDesk). I have spent about 9 months on it. This little gem (ha,ha) had everything! Write verify toggle, repair disk, own item selector,8 windows, all drive support, twisted format, extended format, load program into memory and switch between them, neat little icons, colors!, timer, auto screen off, seek time set,and many more! I had also written some assembly programs to go with it (ie. utilitys!).. Well, I just got finished with it and compiled it. Ok, I test it out, all works great! I'm soooooooo happy, run the resource editor (change a few things),save the new .rsc file, load up the editor to edit the code a little for looks,i get TRASH!,bang on keyboard, doesn't help.. All programs on disk are screwed! Do you think i'm gonna do it all over? Hell no! So the moral of this story is "If you have a big project, back-up you code!!!".. THE END dlh@raider.MFEE.TN.US
