The 30 stands for 1990, while the 03 stands for the third week of HP's fiscal year, which I believe starts Nov 1. In other words, 3003 means that your calculator was manufactured the third week of November 1989. The A means made in America. (S = Singapore (sp?)) The last five digits are the individual unit numbers, but they may be batch numbers, I do not know for sure. Dan Allen Apple Computer
