Its an EMACS-like editor and comes with an extender/compiler to let you customize it. It is "disk-based" in that any size file can be edited-- it swaps blocks in and out of RAM as needed. I've edited files over 10 MB in size. If you like emacs, you'll like epsilon. Bob
