CS Dept, Ithaca NY Lines: 11 I am building a simulator for a parallel execution environment and am considering using ISIS to manage message queues and perhaps for distribution across processors. I know that ISIS runs under Mach, using Cthreads; my question is: does ISIS run on the BBN Butterfly, and if so can I get true parallelism between ISIS lightweight tasks? Otherwise, I'll have to run multiple ISIS processes to get parallelism, and pay the overhead of message passing for every interaction. Micah Beck Cornell CS Dept.
