Well I bought one at retail for $1300 ... not the best price, but as it turns 
out my wife needed it immediately ... no time for FedEx even ! ... now my 
concerns/interests are as follows:

1) replacement battery with a higher Ah rating (like the aftermarket camcorder 
   battery replacements).  My wife does not want to carry extra 
   batteries/charger allong with the 1000se & printer & paper & ... etc.

2) a synchronous modem with coax connection (my wife needs to hook up to an 
   IBM 3070 and transfer data).

any thoughts?
