Since we also have a large Sun network, I'd like to be able to use one of the Suns as an Appleshare-compliant file server. I've checked out the CAPS software available from Columbia. The README file indicates that CAPS requires an Appletalk to Ethernet bridge box such as the Kinetics FastPath. Since we've already got the Ethernet interfaces, I can't justify buying an external converter. Most of these Macs are running TOPS. I've heard there is a version of TOPS for the Sun. If anyone is using TOPS to link Macs and Suns, I'd appreciate a summary of your experiences. Are there any other software-only solutions? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Barry Wolman | barry@s66.prime.com Principal Technical Consultant | 500 Old Connecticut Path Prime Computer | Framingham, MA 01701 | 508/879-2960, ext. 1100 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nothing in this posting represents a position of Prime Computer.
