I'm putting follow-ups there. Inside Macintosh should be used as a starting point and not the be-all and end-all of programming the Macintosh. Many of the points or recommendations which were originally stated in IM may have been changed for various reasons: 1) The certain method no longer works with the current software. 2) The folks at Apple aren't omnicient and found that they had boo-boo'ed and that it's a bad idea (Fonts in Applications is an example) 3) There's a better way... Unfortunately, technotes aren't as widely available as they should be. (Actually, IM should be updated, incorporating Technote changes...)
