Keywords: Hard disk, dies, etc... Message-ID: <1990Mar11.211449.6833@eng.umd.edu> Date: 11 Mar 90 21:14:49 GMT Sender: allon@bagend.eng.umd.edu Organization: Maryversity of Uniland, College Park Lines: 18 Lately, my hard disk (at home -- I'm living on campus, but my parents keep calling me about this) on my Mac II has been mucking up...Occasionally, when you run a program, or do some disk i/o, the HD just sits there seeking (you can hear it). When trying to boot, it will do the same -- it gives the happy mac, then just sits there seeking. Rebuilding the desktop fixes the problem, but then it occurs again. Is this a symptom of some virus, or is my HD just going senile? It shouldn't be going bad, since I've only had the machine for about a year or so, and it isn't used every day (it does get shut off between uses). Thanks. Please reply via e-mail, since I usually don't have time to read news, though I'd love to. I'll try to stay current, but usually I have a few hundred messages to catch up on. - -= Allon =- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The required certificates for this signature are on file at the central signature facility. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
