Please refer me to or recommend a color image scanner for the
macintosh.

In addition, what software packages for the mac are available
that will allow me to edit the images. I want to:

crop the image

half tone it according to various "standard" algorithms

print the image on a color printer (color postscript?)

and produce an outline of the areas of the picture of
the same color.
