Prices anyone? We have some RS2030's which we filled with 3rd party SIMMS, they worked fine. It cost $170 in Australia per megabyte. It can be instlled pretty easily, although a SIMM removing tool is handy, check with your maintenance agreement first! We also have many M/120's The M120 does not take SIMMS, it uses a proprietary memory board that is not currently duplicated by any third party. In Aust, they cost $8k for an 8Mb board (Uni discount!!!!) and are expensive enough to make one consider another manufacturer. It doesn't matter how fast the box is in thoery if the users have to underconfigure the memory and suffer constant swapping. Memory prices are the big downside to Mips products, specially now that software is designed under the "memory is cheap" principle. Remember too that you need quite a bit more memory than you are used to if you are transferring from a CISC to a RISC.
