Power is the problem. The 400's power supply may not be able to handle
the extra drain, especially at startup or when tape is in use.

Cables are another problem if you can get or don't have them.  Make sure
that the second disk is properly strapped for unit number 1.  The
first one should be #0.  The termination resistors should be installed
only in the drive at the end of the data cable.
