A while ago, I heard that either CDC or Hitachi is coming out with a 2 GB
SMD/IPI class disk and just wondering if anyone has heard/investigated
this up to now.

The Ciprico (?) controller for the 1.2 GB Sabre drive (Sun calls it 7053 ?
or SMD-4) -- can one mix drives on this controller ?  (e.g. mixing 2
Sabre's with two 892 MB Hitachi DK-815's).  I heard that using Sun's own
controller (7053?) one cannot mix drives but I'm not sure about this.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.
