Keywords: Networks Message-ID: <5743@brazos.Rice.edu> Date: 13 Mar 90 17:42:48 GMT Sender: root@rice.edu Organization: Sun-Spots Lines: 26 Approved: Sun-Spots@rice.edu X-Sun-Spots-Digest: Volume 9, Issue 78, message 8 I have three machines set up like: ----------------------------------------------------------- | | | ----- ----- ----- | A | | B | | C | ----- ----- ----- where: A: microvax running VMS B: microvax running Ultrix C: sun 4/110 I have some users which want to run a X application on (A) and display the output on (C). The problem is that (A) does DecNet and (C) does TCP/IP. Although we currently use (B) to telnet between (A) and (C), is there something we can run on (B) to turn X DecNet into X TCP/IP? Alternatively, is there something I can run on (A) to make it produce something (C) will understand or something I can run on (C) to make it understand what (A) is producing? Please e-mail and if there's sufficient interest, I'll summarize back. | Henry Clark | E-Mail: | | Computer Science Dept. | henryc@cs.umr.edu | | University of MO - Rolla | henryc%cs.umr.edu@umrvmb.bitnet | | Rolla, MO 65401 | ...!uunet!cs.umr.edu!henryc |
