Message-ID: <2437@randvax.UUCP> Date: 8 Mar 90 20:04:20 GMT Reply-To: urban@rand.org (Mike Urban) Organization: RAND Corp., Santa Monica, Ca. Lines: 17 Twice in the last month we have experienced a situation in which two or more Vaxen running 4.3bsd *simultaneously* lose their ability to map host names to their IP addresses. Rebooting alleviates the symptom, so it is not the disappearance of a file or anything similar. Most peculiar is the fact that the event appears to happen at the same time on unrelated systems running vanilla 4.3bsd; no NFSish tricks are involved. Has anyone experienced anything like this? What sort of Remarkable Event could trigger this syndrome? How can it be corrected short of a reboot. Mike -- Mike Urban urban@rand.ORG
