I have a SparcStation 1 with a graphics accelerator on it. I recompiled Xsun by putting #define FBTYPE_SUNFAST_COLOR in sun.cf. I remade clean, Makefiles, includes and the required libraries. Then I did make in the server directory. I verified that the cgsix code is actually compiled in. I did MAKEDEV cgsix and really have a cgsix0 node. I start the server with xinit -- /usr/local/src/other/X11R4/mit/server/Xsun -dev /dev/cgsix0 and find no performance difference between that and starting the vanilla server via xinit or starting the new one with /dev/fb (or indeed, starting the vanilla server with no /dev/cgsix0 present). Most of my impressions are formed from twm and xterm's. What should I be looking for (at?) Thanks Bob Morris
