Ultrix 3.0, X11R4, fix 5. If I start xdm manually everything works fine, but when it runs from ttys it refuse to read Xresources. xdm-errors: XIO: fatal IO error 9 (Bad file number) on X server ":0.0" after 5 requests (2 known processed) with 0 events remaining. There are no errors if I remove the file 'Xresources'. Anyone know what this mean? (Yes, I have checked all environmentvariables and paths ) xdm starts a login with the default sign "Welcome to the X windows system". It is also possible to log in. The only malfunction is that the resources are never read. My Xresources: (I've tried with the distributed original also) xlogin*login.translations: #override\ F1: set-session-argument(failsafe) finish-field()\n\ Return: set-session-argument() finish-field() xlogin*borderWidth: 3 xlogin*Foreground: black xlogin*Background: white xlogin*greeting: HOST xlogin*unsecureGreeting: Unsecure HOST Nothing peculiar there. It seems like some open error, but I can't find the error. -- Joergen Haegg jh@efd.lth.se postmaster@efd.lth.se System manager @ efd 046-107492 Lund Institute of Technology Sweden
