Evanston, Il. Lines: 11 We have just purchased several Sparcstations which we are planning to connect to an existing PC/AT network. We have two major problems. 1) We need to port FORTRAN software from a VAX system which uses a dedicated Textronix 4010 terminal for its graphic output. Is there an easy way to open a 4010 window under X, set it up as a device so we can open it with a FORTRAN OPEN statement and just write to it? 2) We would like to run X server code on the PC's so they can act as terminals to the SUN's in a consistent manner. We currently use Hercules Graphics cards. Are there (hopefully), PD versions of X that run under DOS. If not, what are the alternatives. Please reply to RAW09114@NUACC.ACNS.NWU.EDU. Thanks - John
