I am tring to recompile X11.R4 with fixes 1 through 5 applied on our
Sun 4 machines.  But, Sun's stupid compiler (SUNOS 4.03) barfs on 

	mask <<= 1

in mit/server/dix/events (line 1693 exactly).  Mask is a CARD16
(which is typedef-ed to unsigned short). cc -O handles everthing
except unsigned shorts! 

Has any one else had this problem ? What did you do ?
